Dialpad Review

Previously known as Switch Communications, Dialpad had an estimated $120 million in total funding and employed an estimated 472 people as of July 2020, this according to a company profile created by the experts at Craft.com. They received an “A” cybersecurity rating and their popular website saw an average of 347.2 thousand hits per month. Dialpad has experienced explosive growth since 2020, as of Jan 2022 estimated to have 894 employees.

At its core, Dialpad is so much more than just another unified communications provider. It was built from the ground up (get the actual start date) to act as a purely cloud-based business communications platform, all via a sophisticated array of features that are properly tuned to the way your business works today. People can be just as productive in the back seat of an Uber as they can be in the comfort of their own office, which is especially important during a period when more people are working from home than ever, as we work through this home work revolution.

Update - 2022.02.18

What you need to know:
For those looking for a Unified Communication as a Service (UCaaS) provider, Dialpad has become a popular business phone system. This business telecom provider is known for its strong teleconferencing and its ability to enhance VoIP phone service capabilities. In addition, Dialpad has a culture of continuous innovation, consistently rolling out new features that make it easier for small and medium businesses everywhere.

For example, the company recently announced a change in the way it handles voicemail transcription. Now, the transcription services use a group’s international IVR language for transcriptions instead of office languages, which makes the transcription more accurate. This is helpful for those who receive voicemails on a regular basis.
In addition, the program made it easier to block a contact. Now, it is possible for users to block a contact from the top level of their contact details instead of having to dive into the weeds to find this capability. This makes it easier for companies to stop unwanted calls and messages.

There were several other features that were rolled out recently as well. It is now possible for agents to toggle their own “Do Not Disturb” status with a single click of a button. It is also possible for recipients to opt-out of SMS messages. They can also opt back in whenever they would like, and they have access to basic support information.

The program also made some changes to their call routing scenarios for transfer loops. A transfer loop can occur when someone is manually transferred or when the caller has asked for their call to loop back to a prior menu. This makes it easier for people to find the person or feature they are looking for. These changes should improve the functionality of Dialpad at the end of 2021 and into 2022.

It’s important to understand that the way your business communicates is about so much more than just keeping your customers in form. The way you approach customer service directly relates to the experiences you’re able to generate for these people. The higher quality customer experiences you offer, the more this can act as a genuine competitive advantage for your business in an already-crowded marketplace. This is true regardless of the type of company you’re running, or even the industry that you’re operating in.

The team at Dialpad understand this, and have risen to meet these needs via a number of core features, all of which are more than worth exploring.

Business Telecom Solutions From Dialpad: Your Overview

Dialpad’s best business phone system offering takes the form of Dialpad Talk – something that the company bills as “a business phone system that works the way it should.” In general, it acts as a single location for all business conversations – regardless of who is doing the talking, where they’re located or even what device they happen to be using at the moment.

Essentially, Dialpad Talk is a way to make sure that you always have your business phone with you in your pocket, absolutely no exceptions. It includes an innovative suite of mobile apps that let you feel like you’re working out of the office, even if you’re at home or are halfway around the world on vacation at the time.

Diving deeper, Dialpad Talk comes with a wide array of features that are empowering for small businesses in particular, including but not limited to ones like:

  • Lightning fast deployments. You can add new users, swap phone numbers and even create new ring groups – all via a system that accurately reflects any changes you happen to make in real-time.
  • Number portability. If you have an existing phone number for your business that has been successful in the past, you can keep it – even when you’re switching providers, or if you’re talking about a number that is toll-free or international.
  • Powerful integrations. Dialpad Talk includes native integration with all of the business apps you’re probably already using like Zendesk, G Suite and Salesforce, just to name a few.
  • Business SMS text messaging. Dialpad Talk natively supports SMS, MMS and even group chat functionality for superior communication and collaboration.
  • Voice intelligence. A sophisticated array of features will nt only automatically capture what was said during a call, but it will also break down comments by who was speaking, too.
  • Dynamic call routing. This allows business owners to build smart call routing paths to make sure that customers are getting to the exact person they need to speak to as quickly as possible.
  • Call analytics. This allows you to dive deep into that data you’re creating on a daily basis. You can see who is placing the most calls and can even search for specific keywords to find conversations as they’re happening.
  • Spam blocking. This is a perfect opportunity for small business owners to clear their phone lines of unwanted calls, all so that they can focus the majority of their attention on the people who matter most: their actual customers.

All this, and Dialpad Talk also supports a wide range of standard phone handsets in addition to mobile devices. Dialpad also offers several models (have Stephen list a couple of brands here) for direct purchase, allowing them to act as a complete turnkey solution to revolutionize your business’ ability to communicate.

In May of 2019, Dialpad also expanded its cloud communications offering to support call centers – itself a perfect opportunity to empower communications in companies that are on the rise. Even smaller businesses can now have full access to call center support and functionality, allowing them to tap into additional assistance during periods when their own customer service representatives are experiencing very heavy call volumes. This decision for Dial Pad to expand its communications via the cloud was prophetic given the current Covid-19 pandemic we are navigating our way through.

What Real Customers Are Saying

Dialpad was dubbed as “a glimpse of what the future of small business communications will probably look like.” The reviewer went on to say that “instead of worrying about hardware, [Dialpad Talk] focuses on software, mobility and integrating with as many third-party applications as possible.”

echo these sentiments, with one saying that “Dialpad is easy to use if you’re receiving calls and need text function, because of the in-line organization by contact.” In general, one of the major themes was that the service had an elegant and easy to navigate user interface, and that it was a powerful opportunity to track both call and message history by contact in one simple place.

Dialpad: The Communications Foundation Your Business Can Depend On

Previously known as Switch Communications, Dialpad had an estimated $120 million in total funding and employed an estimated 472 people as of July 2020, this according to a company profile created by the experts at Craft.com. They received an “A” cybersecurity rating and their popular website saw an average of 347.2 thousand hits per month.

All of this points to a company that is very much on the rise – of course, the same can be said of their powerful unified communications platform. But with an eye towards not just where business communication is today but where it might be headed in the future, it’s clear that this is a provider that is certainly worth paying attention to for so many small and mid-sized organizations out there.

+ PROS: Most helpful: Positive Review Quality, Dialpad talk not only allow us to answer and make calls, but we can use it to track every possible KPI and with that, keeping the quality of the service by auditing each interaction.
    - CONS: Most helpful: Negative Review We have been using dialpad for around a year now. The software itself is clunky but generally gets the job done, albeit after significant time tweaking everything. We have four desk phones that mostly work, but most features you would expect in a desk phone don't work with Dialpad.

+ PROS: Most helpful: Positive Review I like the voice recording which is super clear, the conference option is seamless, integrations with emails and drive is a plus, sharing screen without being in a conference is super useful!
    - CONS: Most helpful: Negative Review For reasons that the support team have yet to determine, as fair amount of our calls go right to voicemail or ring once and go to voicemail. This is killing us. Customers constantly complain that they can’t get a hold of us. Very frustrating.

+ PROS: Most helpful: Positive Review Dialpad has been great for our small business. Less expense then traditional land line. Also, easy to use with desktop application.
    - CONS: Most helpful: Negative Review From the first interaction with Dialpad, I was promised amazing features and operations. We had 3 experience sessions, in person and over video calls. I was promised SMS and Mobile DID and so much more. It was only AFTER I signed the contract did Dialpad start to backtrack on ALL their promises and told me that actually NONE of the key items are available and can not be delivered.

+ PROS: Most helpful: Positive Review The best thing about Dialpad VOIP service is their support team. It doesn't matter what type of problem You have, and they will handle it in a couple of minutes. Stability is crucial to me, and that's why I am using it, and I recommend dialpad daily.
    - CONS: Most helpful: Negative Review We are going to have to move our phone system to ZenDesk Talk because we cannot integrate Dialpad with ZenDesk without disabling our IP restrictions in ZenDesk. Our company is required to remain HIPAA-compliant, and the only way to do that while using ZenDesk as our CS platform is to have IP restrictions in place.

+ PROS: Most helpful: Positive Review It provides flexibility, security, and mobility to innovative businesses. It provides voice intelligent features such as post-call summaries, real-time transcription, etc. Also, it integrates well with other cloud apps
    - CONS: Most helpful: Negative Review Horrible. Constantly checking the KBA provided with limited knowledge of there own product. When you reach out to internal support teams. They also are unaware of there own program. They provide you with a URL to the KBA. The Analytics only works if you ALWAYS want to manually look it up for each of your agents per Cost Center.
